Easy Greek Yogurt Labneh Spread

Labneh is a creamy strained yogurt spread that is popular throughout the Middle East. Growing up, one of my favorite lunches was a simple labneh sandwich with cucumbers and tomatoes. This version uses whole milk Greek yogurt for an easy, protein-packed twist.

Ingredients

For the Labneh Spread

  • 32 oz whole milk Greek yogurt

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Sandwich

  • 2 slices bread

  • 1/4 cup labneh spread

  • 1/2 cucumber, sliced

  • 1 tomato, sliced

  • Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Stir the salt into the Greek yogurt.

  2. Line a strainer with cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel and place over a bowl.

  3. Add the yogurt and refrigerate for 12–24 hours to strain.

  4. Transfer the thickened labneh to a container.

To Make the Sandwich

  1. Spread the labneh onto both slices of bread.

  2. Top with sliced cucumbers and tomatoes.

  3. Drizzle with olive oil.

  4. Serve immediately and enjoy.
